What is Noise in Communication?

What is Noise in Communication? If you are A Bachelors Degree of Electronics And Communication Engineer holder, you must know what is the meaning of Noise.
A Noise is defined as an unwanted form of a signal that disturbs, interferes and affects the wanted signal. In general the meaning of noise is undesired signal that becomes noise. There are 3 types of Noise in Communication. One is the External Noise. When you say External Noise, This type of  noise  is difficult to quantify and to solve for their sources are not within the system and usually of natural Origin.

Some Examples of this type of Noise are:

  1. Industrial Noise or Man-made Noise
  2. Atmospheric Noise or Static Noise
  3. Extraterrestial Noise or Space Noise.
The second typeof Noise Is Internal Noise. Internal Noise is produced and introduced at the receiver by the components that make up the receiver itself like resistors, diodes, transistors and even wires or conductors within. Here are the following examples of internal noise of receivers

  1. Thermal Noise
  2. Shot Noise
  3. Transit-time Noise
  4. Flicker Noise.
and the Third type of Noise is what you called Miscellanous. Some type of examples of this Noise are:

  1.  Partition Noise
  2. Burst Noise and the
  3. Avalanche Noise.
